Tea:

  1. Heat your pot of spring water till it boils. 
  2. Add 1 tbsp of berry for every 1 cup of water.
  3. Let simmer on low with a lid to cover for 15-20 minutes. Add water if needed as it will evaporate as it boils.
  4. Strain and enjoy! Add sweetener if you desire

What It's Been Used For.

Elderberry supports in ridding of mucus and inflammation throughout the body, and respiratory system. It can support digestive health, muscle, and nerve health; immune activation, and hair, skin, and nail health. It could also protect and strengthen the heart, as well as, support the body and mind in adapting to stress. This berry provides sufficient amounts of antioxidants and minerals such as calcium, potassium, manganese, magnesium, iron, and phosphorus.

Upful Tip

Elderberry can be used as a tea, as well as made into wine, juice, jams, and syrup. Check out our blog for some recipes! Do not throw away berries after one use, re-simmer them up to 3 times. 

History

The elder plant has been found to reach back as far as Ancient Egypt and during Hippocrates's era, where he referred to this plant as the 'father of medicine'. Practically every part of the plants can be used to make things ranging from syrups and jams, tools and musical instruments to dyes and insect repellents.

Can children consume this?

Fine for children 2 years old and above. For children, the recommended dosage is 1/2 Teaspoon per cup.
